Reading :: Colossians Remixed: Subverting the Empire

by Neal on May 17, 2009

I have had this book on my “to read” pile for some time. Each time I get to the book, I think, hmmm maybe too heavy (the content and not the size of the book) for the moment. But, as you can see I have breached the cover and begun to read Colossians Remixed: Subverting the Empire by Brian J Walsh and Sylvia C. Keesmaat. Now I know I am years behind some of you, as I first saw the book at a Forge Australia gathering and discussion back at least 4 years ago, but regardless, I am now reading it, whether at the right time or not, who knows?

I will write a review, but I wanted to leave you with a thought that the book quite nicely ties in with Seth Godin’s TED talk on Tribes from <a href=“http://www.handtotheplough.com.au/2009/05/12/seth-godin-tribes-from-ted/” target=_blank”>my previous post, and so far, was almost a precursor for some of the ideas for ReJesus by Alan Hirsch and Mike Frost. I am particularly finding it relevant and speaking loudly in light of recent World events. If you have read it, please let me know what you thought, otherwise I will post a brief review of the book when I can.
