When I was collecting books for the future Theological second-hand bookstore I would like to eventually open, one of the boxes I was given had two books that I stumbled across while finding a bible for one of the guests at The Dining Room and Vive Cafe. The books are “Retrospect” by Hudson Taylor and a Biography of Hudson Taylor called — “Hudson Taylor, God’s Venturer”. While the copies I have are quite old the links are to Amazon.
These are challenging me with my prayer life and relationship with God. Hudson was an amazing man of God and a passionate Gospel bearer to the people of China. I recommend that you have read of these books and see if they impact you.
The image here of Hudson Taylor is from a comic book series of “Christian Heroes” — I had to laugh that the Southern Baptists have claimed Hudson as one of their own, while he was British and more than likely a Methodist or similar! Not sure how he ended up as a Southern Baptist! LOL
