A few of prayer points from the community

by Neal on April 9, 2009

There are so many people and stories that I want to share from The Dining Room and Vive Cafe — most will break your heart. However, I won’t embarrass anyone (not too mention the privacy issues!), but I would ask that you keep some of the these folk in your prayers this weekend.

  • A guy, we’ll call Ted, usually sleeps in his car, parking wherever he can. Over the last weekend it was in the shop for repairs. Last weekend was one that was heavy with rain and temperatures dropped dramatically. Ted, his car in for repairs, slept wherever he could keep warm and dry. He just got his car back but he is desperately needing to see a GP about an incontinence issue that he admits too but is terrified to do anything about it.
  • One of the volunteers, Pam (not her real name either), recently fell and broke her hip replacement, not too mention fracturing her leg in three places. She is in hospital and slowly recovering — ironic that she is one of the hardest working volunteers who comes and is always on the go! I am concerned that Pam will become depressed but from the visit I paid her last week, she is still good in spirits, if not stir crazy!
  • Another guy, Harry, has gone missing and while he is not homeless, he is very lonely and depressed and suffering from a debilitating back issue. We can’t track him down and his friends are also trying to find him. We are concerned for his welfare!
  • Finally, one of the mother’s that attends has been battling depression. She has slipped back into some old habits but is doing better now! She is strong, has been praying and I believe she will overcome what she is battling.

I hope that you can take the time to pray for these folk. They are each a precious person in our community in The Dining Room and Vive Cafe.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
