I am asking myself what can I do to help?

by Neal on February 9, 2009

I am sure you have seen the news and heard that over the weekend we experienced our hottest day on record — 46°Celcius. It was also the day we had extreme fires sweep across the countryside, wipe out a few towns and kill over 200 people, leave over 5000 people homeless and destroy about 600 homes.

I have seen the stories and have heard the requests to support — but all I have to offer is prayers and my skills and heart as a counsellor. Just trying to work out who I need to speak to. But I am worried that I have not yet got ACA accreditation. This frustrates me!

Addendum: I realise how selfish this sounds and have changed the title to save any confusion. I want to help in one of the only ways I can — my new skills and my passion — i don’t have the funds to support anything and wehave been giving our old clothes to the work I am involved with for the homeless. This doesn’t devalue the effort — it just means I am limited to what I CAN do. YOU can help by praying and supporting the call for donations of clothing etc and funds.
